Hi Everyone…
Training is back in full swing post-Christmas and New Year, which means the weekends are full of lots of nice long training sessions! One thing that did come to mind over the holidays is that the long run can get a little lonely when the distances start to increase every week. Mari and I kept bumping into friends out training for various marathons, triathlons and just to keep fit, so we thought…why don’t we all just get together?! And Sunday Run Club was born…
We’ve started a little Facebook group where we will post the route, distance and meet-up details every week, so log on and have a look. Always starting somewhere different, we will split into various groups depending on pace, every Sunday at 9:30am. If you want to run further or shorter it is completely up to you. All meeting back at the start point for a spot of Mari’s (vegan, sugar-free) baking and coffee out of our car boots. Those looking for full fat, butter and sugar should bring their own…ha ha
Just another great excuse to get together! We’re meeting this Sunday, 9:30am at the West Gate of Inverleith Park for a 10 mile loop. It will just be a tiny group to start but hopefully it will grow as the season progresses! It would be great to make it great Newhaven turnout, so hope to see you there…
David

fantastic david, cake always sounds good, although not too sure about sugar-free haha! one little thing, we already have a run club on a monday night, 6.30pm, you have been out with us, and it was where i bumped into mari and she mentioned she would come along on monday? i dont want to loose the monday night runners who have kept it going for quite some time now. why dont we run them both for a while? then people can choose which ever suits?
take it easy

Cool Al, the idea was to still do Monday night, it was more for the long runs on Sunday… Mari and I are still up for Monday nights speed work or whatever session everyone else is doing. So lets do both, be awesome to see everyone, Sunday, Monday or Both.
Have great weekends all…
D
Thanks, David. I will probably be running on Saturday and cycling Sunday this weekend, but it’s great to have more options for everyone to run together- and eat cake together! Will be along another Sunday, though clearly I will not be running with you!
Thanks David. Sounds good. I am doing a race this Sunday but will definitely come along. :0
Oops that meant come along in the future not before/after my race.
